It is an honor to be invited into our patients’ lives and work with them to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.
Mia chose to focus her life on health care because she loved the challenge of the ever-evolving field of medicine. Above all, it was important for her to work in a field that involved service to others. As a member of the Neurology & Pain Specialty Center, Mia focuses on general neurology specializing in neuromuscular disorders and epilepsy, specifically the use of VNS therapy.
In 2001, Mia graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in International Development Studies and a Minor in African Studies. In 2005, she earned her B.S. in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (Accelerated Program). Mia joined the Trauma-Surgical unit at UCI Medical Center in 2005 and within one year of new graduate orientation she was assigned charge nurse duties. Her work then transitioned to the Medical unit in 2009 working with acute and chronic patients. She went on to achieve her MS in nursing at the University of California, Irvine in 2012. In January 2013, Mia joined the Neurology and Pain Specialty Center team.
When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her growing family, running, watching sports and traveling.
