Julie Ramirez, R.N.
“Being a nurse allows me to make a difference in the lives of the patients I work with every day.”
From the time Julie Ramirez started working for Cal Optima she already knew that helping people was what she wanted to do with her life. Frustrated by the bureaucracy of the insurance system she wanted to find a better way to affect change in the quality of care for patients. At the Neurology and Pain Specialty Center she is able to focus on working directly with general neurology patients by collecting patient histories, handling medication prior authorizations and triaging phone calls. She is also the Neurology and Pain Specialty Center’s neurotoxin (Botox®, Xeomin®) study coordinator.
In 2012, Julie earned her degree from West Coast University in Ontario with a B.S. in nursing. She joined the Neurology and Pain Specialty Center shortly after graduating.
She spends her free time bowling with friends, spending time with her family and crafting.
